That's quite how I feel, myself. That's why I think apologies are almost always bullshit... I mean, if you hadn't meant the thing you did or said in any capacity, it wouldn't have been done or said, period.

That attitude comes off excessively harsh, though... Not that I don't understand why, but... meh.

I think you're making some mistake about what apologies are... the worthwhile apologies come after the deed being apologized for, can no longer be undone.
