Here's something odd that's been happening in my dreams recently. In dreams my sense of body, like sight and hearing, are detached from my physical body and only operate in the world of the dream. Sometimes (specifically, when I start to doubt my sanity while dreaming) one or both of my eyes will open partway and my visual field will be what they see, while my hearing and sense of body remain in the dream. The experience is one of suddenly having a fixed, blurred image block your vision. It usually lasts around ten seconds.

Hm, I've had that happen before. Extremely rarely, though, and not for several years. It was always a little creepy.
