I tried cutting off the Internet at home when I first moved to Austin, but that left me without a private space for online communication, so it didn't last. But now I have an office, so that problem is solved. As for the benefit... I'm starting to really value the feeling of not being connected. It helps me clear some space around me, so to speak.
