Thank you for writing this entry! (And, vainly, for finding me intelligent and promising. ;)

I understand the sort of eh feeling about writing about mundanity; these are not the kinds of things I want to be remembered for, or thought of by, or spend a large amount of time re-processing. But as a friend, I appreciate when people do this kind of writing, both because it contextualizes the things that really matter, and because sometimes the processing turns up something interesting. (In particular --- no internet at home! While I expect the details are remarkably mundane, it's fascinating to me for some reason, and while I cannot have no Internet at my house because I work from home, I'm sort of curious to try turning it off for a weekend to see what happens. Or maybe I should just put my computer in a drawer.)

And yes. Reading papers properly is made of time-taking. Although it is a really enjoyable process and I look forward to being done with classes so that I can do more of it. Also, high ceilings!!! I am so with you on that.
