Indeed. Making something happen uncontrollably is much more easy than directing it. Explosives (in reality) and AI (in fiction) comes to mind.

It's scary, though I'll admit that it can also be thrilling. I hope that people will lose their fear, and learn how to do things that are slightly out of control.

That old comparison of excessive chaos and order comes to mind again.

Too much order (trying to control too greatly) leads to stagnation. Too much chaos leads to the destruction of things that are useful, because the structure breaks down.
