Two of my cousins and I once created an economy in my grandmother's backyard. The unit of money was one leaf, and the three of us created small items to be bought by this leaf. For a short time it was as though money grew on trees, but runaway inflation soon struck, ruining any chance the leaf might have had on the world market.
